Lucas and Ryan update...

So, it's been a really long time since my last post. But things have been extremely hectic and crazy around here and I've been a bit stressed out. Well not just a bit but that's a whole nother story. Anyways....boys are doing great. Lucas started preschool. He had his first day a couple weeks ago. Things are going pretty well with that. He seems to enjoy it. He has to start seeing a speech therapist that will come to our house twice a week to work with him. Ryan finally got his first tooth in a couple weeks ago. A lot later than Lucas did. Lucas got his first tooth at 6 months. Ryan has another tooth popping in next to the one that's already there. Today Ryan got his first pair of walking shoes. He's not quite walking yet but since the weather is really cooling off he needed something for his feet and he will probably start walking in a month or so anyways. The other day Ryan had his check up and weighed almost 25 pounds. He's in the 90 percentile for his weight, he's at the top of the chart for his height and he's off the charts for the size of his head. He's a very big boy. He's 10 months and one week now. He's already wearing 18 month size clothes and is almost as big as Lucas. Lucas is only 5 pounds heavier and about 4 inches taller that Ryan. Today someone asked me if they were twins!!!

Post Moving...

Well it's been a really long time since I last posted anything. Things have been completely crazy busy around here and Mike and I are so exhausted! The move went well. Just some minor damages(like our 5 drawer dresser that now only has 2 working drawers. So clothes everywhere and boxes still piled up in certain areas of the house. Still also looking for a few important things that we lost in the move....our modem for the computer and our battery charger for our digital camera. We haven't been able to take pictures of the boys because our camera doesn't work. I'm so mad...we've lost like 2 months of the baby. I at least took him the JC Penney's to have his pics done for his six months. And some people took pics of him at Easter. But other than that I don't have any pics of Ryan from at least the past month. So I'm really mad about that. We've got to find the battery charger or see if we can buy a new one!!!!

Boys are doing well. Lucas will be 2 years old on May 24th and Ryan will be 7 months old on May 24th. We're having a party for Lucas at our new house. We have a nice big back yard.

I will update more soon. Just too busy. Ryan needs me now.....

We're moving!

We're moving this month! I'm very excited and can't wait to get it over with. I'm so stressed out. I think I might just go insane. But I know once we get settled into our new house things will calm down and hopefully get back to normal quickly!

Update:
Ryan will be 5 months old on March 24th. He's getting so big. I will post pics sometime after we get moved. Just too busy right now.

Lucas will be 2 on May 24th. I can't believe it. He's got a start on the terrible two already though. Perfect timing! Just adds more to the chaos of moving.

Ovarian Dermoid Cyst

Today I had a follow up from the ultrasound that I had done a few weeks ago on my left ovary. When I had my c section with Ryan the doctor found a cyst. She thought it might have just been hormone related due to the pregnancy but wanted me to have tests done on it just incase. So today at my follow up I found out that I still have the cyst. It's called a dermoid cyst. It's not cancerous so that's good, but these kind of cysts continue to grow and must be removed. So I will have to have surgery again to have it taken out. I go back in April for a follow up and will probably have the surgery sometime in May.

Definition of Dermoid cyst of the ovary
Dermoid cyst of the ovary : A bizarre tumor, usually benign, in the ovary that typically contains a diversity of tissues including hair, teeth, bone, thyroid, etc.

A dermoid cyst develops from a totipotential germ cell (a primary oocyte) that is retained within the egg sac (ovary). Being totipotential, that cell can give rise to all orders of cells necessary to form mature tissues and often recognizable structures such as hair, bone and sebaceous (oily) material, neural tissue and teeth.

Dermoid cysts may occur at any age but the prime age of detection is in the childbearing years. The average age is 30. Up to 15% of women with ovarian teratomas have them in both ovaries. Dermoid cysts can range in size from a centimeter (less than a half inch) up to 45 cm (about 17 inches) in diameter.

These cysts can cause the ovary to twist (torsion) and imperil its blood supply. The larger the dermoid cyst, the greater the risk of rupture with spillage of the greasy contents which can create problems with adhesions, pain etc. Although the large majority (about 98%) of these tumors are benign, the remaining fraction (about 2%) becomes cancerous (malignant).

Removal of the dermoid cyst is usually the treatment of choice. This can be done by laparotomy (open surgery) or laparoscopy (with a scope). Torsion (twisting) of the ovary by the cyst is an emergency and calls for urgent surgery.

Dermoid cysts of the ovary are also called simply dermoids or ovarian teratomas.
