Doctor's Visits

In the past 3 weeks and 4 days I've been to 6 doctor appointments. 4 for Ryan, one for Lucas and one for me. It's crazy. Ryan had to go several times for weigh in's because he lost so much weight after birth. He weighed 7 pounds and 13 ounces and lost about one pound after birth. But at his last visit yesterday(monday) he weighed 7 pounds and 15 ounces. So his weight is much better now that he's got the hang of breastfeeding. But now he has an infection around the area were they did the circumcision. So I had to take him in yesterday for that and the doctor gave me a special cream to put on it. He goes back to the doctor again next Tuesday for his one month check up. And the doctor said she will check the infection at that visit to make sure he's all healed up. Last Tuesday I had to take Lucas to the doctor because I suspected he had an ear infection. Which he does. Actually he has a double ear infection. He's been teething again and I could tell something wasn't right because he wasn't eating or sleeping like he usually does and I noticed he'd been tugging on his ears. So he's taking amoxicillan. And last Monday I had to go to the doctor to have my incision checked from the c section. Everything is healing just fine. I go back on December 15th for my postpardum check up and I have to have an ultrasound done on my left ovary because when they did the c section they noticed that my left ovary was 4 times larger than my right one. The doctor thinks it's just due to all the hormones from the pregnancy but wants me to have an ultrasound done just incase.

So 6 visits down and many more to come!

2 weeks and 2 days old

Ryan turned two weeks old this past Friday. I can't believe how fast these weeks have gone by. It's been pretty easy adjusting to having a second baby. I forgot how little sleep you really do get though with a newborn in the house. I'm up every 2 hours to feed him! Luckily Lucas mostly sleeps about 12 hours straight every night. Ryan is doing very well with breastfeeding. It took us a while to get the hang of it and we had to supplement with formula for awhile but it seems like he's starting to gain some weight back now. We go back to the pediatrician this Thursday coming up. Otherwise he's a really good baby. He sleeps most of the time and only fusses when he's hungry or needs a diaper change. He's pretty much easy to figure out.

Mike's mom was here the first week we were home from the hospital to help us out and my mom was here just this past week and will be here until Nov. 16. I'm so glad I've had alot of help. I don't know what I'm going to do when I'm all on my own.

I'm feeling mostly recovered from my c section. Sometimes I get a little sore if I get to doing to much, but I've been out and about and am getting around pretty easily. We've already been to Target, the grocery store, kohl's, the doctor's office for a couple visits, and to church today for Ryan's first time. Oh and yesterday we went to the mall so Lucas could see all the Christmas stuff. He just loves to look at all the decorations. I can't wait to decorate our house for Christmas!!

I'll keep you update on Ryan. He goes to see his pediatrician this Thursday. I'm hoping he's back to his birth weight. At his last appointment he weighed 6 pounds and 15.5 ounces. He was 7 pounds and 13 ounces at birth. But he's been nursing every 3 hours for about 30 mins each feeding so I'm sure he's gained some more weight by now.

Lucas is doing really well adjusting to having a new baby in the house too. He doesn't really realize that baby Ryan is a real person. He just thinks he's a toy. Lucas just goes about his day as usual. It hasn't seemed to interfere with him.

Happy Birthday baby Ryan!!

Ryan James Wicklatz was born Friday October 24th 2008 at 9:22 am. He weighed 7 pounds and 13 ounces and was 21 inches long. He has dark blue eyes and light brown hair. And he has the cutest little round nose. He was born by c section with no complications to mommy or baby. He's a perfect little baby.

still not yet

we still haven't gotten a date for the c section yet. My next appointment is Wednesday October 15th so we should definitley be finding out that day!

Also my doctor injured his hand so please pray that he recovers quickly and can return to work so that he will be the doctor doing my c section. Otherwise I will be having a doctor that I've never met before, boo! I'm kind of scared about that.

Going to meet baby Ryan soon!

Tomorrow I have another checkup with my doctor and am hoping that we will be scheduling the date for the c section. I'm really getting anxious for him to be here. I can't wait to see his face. I wonder if he'll look like Lucas. And I can't wait to see how Lucas reacts to having a little brother. I think that's what I look forward to the most. I know he will be a good big brother. And I'm really excited to have my mom stay with me for two weeks after I have the baby. It will be really nice to have her around to help me out!!

This week I'm starting to get all the last details ready for the baby. Like getting the car seat installed and getting the hospital bag ready. There's still a few things we need to purchase for the hospital bag. Money has been really tight for us. But luckily Mike has been able to get lots of hours of over time. On his next paycheck he should have about 30 hours of overtime.

Lucas is doing really well. He's been getting alot of teeth in. He has 11 teeth total right now and has another molar coming in on the bottom now. Tomorrow he also has an appointment to go to the pediatrician for his check up and shots. He's a very curious and adventurous little boy. And he's so smart. He picks up on everything Mike and I do. He's also been learning alot from his toddler class he's been going to with Mike. It's like a mom and tot class except Mike takes him because I can't.

I'll keep you all posted on the date for the c section!

pregnancy week 36

This Friday I will be 36 weeks along in the pregnancy. This past Tuesday I had a checkup with the doctor and I go back again next Tuesday Oct. 7th. At the appointment we should be scheduling the date for the c section. We will be scheduling it for sometime between my 38th and 39th weeks of pregnancy. So the baby will be here in 2 to 3 weeks!!

4 more weeks until baby Ryan is here!

today I had a doctor appointment. The baby is still breech and since I had a c section with Lucas because my body is apparently not designed for giving birth naturally we will be having another c section in 4 weeks!

Baby Ryan will be here in no time! Let the chaos begin!!

happy birthday to me!

Yesterday was my birthday. Mike and I both had to work so we weren't able to celebrate it yesterday. So today we're going out to dinner Mike, Lucas and I to the cheesecake factory. Then hopefully if I can get someone to babysit Lucas then Mike and I will go see a movie together. I'm really looking forward to it. It's been awhile since we've gotten to do something nice together. The cheesecake factory is one of my favorite places to eat. So Mike wanted to take me there. It was a nice surprise.

Lucas update!

I forgot to tell you all that Lucas got his first molar about two weeks ago. It came in when we were down in kentucky visting grandma and grandpa. Now he's working on another one on the right side. Total he's got 9 teeth once that molar comes through on the right side he'll have 10!!! And he's doing so well. He's hardly been fussy and no ear infections!!

33 weeks, wish I could fast forward 7 weeks!!!

so.... feeling pretty crappy these days. I've been in so much pain that I pretty much can't function at all. Just walking from room to room in the house is painful! It's so hard for me to even just take care of myself but to also have to take care of Lucas keep up with the house and go to work. I've had it. I just want this to be over with. Moslty I'm upset about not being able to function normally because I want to be with Lucas and provide him with the best possible, but it's just too hard for me. And poor Mike has had enough of me!!! We're all ready for baby Ryan's arrival but I suppose we should let him "cook" a little longer.....7 weeks longer!!! I hope it goes by fast.

7 months

This coming friday will be my 30th week of pregnancy. Only 2 more months to go. I'm ready to get this baby out of me already. I've been in so much pain and been having so many problems. My sciatic is just getting worse, I've been having alot of pelvic pain and pressure, and I've been having cramping and contractions for awhile now. I'm also still battling with keeping myself hydrated. I'm getting really tired and irritated very easily. And I feel like I don't have time and patients for lucas anymore and that sucks because I want nothing more but to be with him and spend as much time with him as possible before Ryan comes.

Sorry this update had to be about all my pregnancy complaints but I'm just not feeling well these days.....

Pregnancy week #27

This past friday was the 27th week of my pregnancy. Not too much longer to go, thank goodness. It's mostly been an easy pregnancy but I'm getting warn out. I was having some contractions last week off and on. But they've gone away. Since then I've been trying to take it easy. I think that has helped. I just try to do to much. So feeling better now. I'm still having alot of problems with sciatic. It seems like it's just getting worse and worse. It's definetly not any fun.

This weekend my aunt laurie and uncle mark and my cousin kristen and her two kids came out to visit and spent the night saturday. We had a great time. It was really nice to see them. It had been about 6 months since the last I'd seen them. But now I'm so warn out. It was a busy weekend. Other than that nothing really new.

Lucas is doing great. He gets bigger and bigger everyday. I'm so lucky to have such a good little boy. He's been great. It sure makes things easier on me. He's just so well behaved, and always listens to me. He's been sleeping well so I get plenty of rest. He usually sleeps about 8pm to 8am straight through the night then goes for a nap from 10 am to 12pm and another nap from about 3 pm to 5pm. During the times he's awake we just play around the house. He's really good about letting my get chores done and will play in his room on his own for a bit. Sometimes we get outside but it's been so hot that he usually has to wait until later in the day when his daddy can take him out. But we have a really nice backyard and we set up the pool and we also have a park just the next block over which we can get to from the back gate of our yard. I really like our new place.

I'm starting to slowly get ready for baby Ryan's arrival. I had mike bring up all of our baby stuff from the basement so I can go trough it to see what we could reuse. Luckily we won't need much as far as clothes. Atleast not for the first 6 months. We still have to purchase a double stroller and another crib and dresser. And I need a changing table. At walmart they have a crib, dresser, and changing table set for 200.00 dollars. I really like it and for the price you can't beat it. And it matches all of the baby furniture that we already have for lucas. Other than that we'll just need some other things like diapers, wipes, rash cream, pacifiers...stuff like that. I still have everything from lucas as far as the swing, bassinet, car seat and all that kind of stuff. The only thing is that Ryan being born close to winter we were concerned about having warmer clothes for the first 5 months or so. But going through all my clothes from lucas I found that I had a ton of sleepers. And that's basically what you use for the newborn stages alot of the time anyways. So financially that's great for us!

Soon I'm hoping that I will have a baby belly picture for you all to see. I have to have Mike take one of me and get it downloaded to the computer. So hopefully soon...

6 months

So I am now officially 6 months pregnant. This coming friday will be my 26th week of pregnancy. Last wednesday we had our ultrasound done at Rush hospital in downtown Chicago. We found out that we are having a baby boy. I'm going to try and see if I can get Mike to help me scan the ultrasound pictures into the computer so that I can show everyone. I'm not really good with the computer stuff. But we are definitely having another boy. I have proof!! The baby is growing as he should and is very healthy. The doctor said he weighed 1 pound and 11 ounces. So that is good. My OB wanted me to have this ultrasound done just incase. Because I have underactive thryroid. But I've been taking my medication and taking my prenatal vitamins, so baby looks good!

Lucas is also doing well. He's the best baby ever. He's always so happy. I wish he didn't have to grow up so fast. I don't want him to be a big boy yet. But with a little one on the way he's almost being forced to "grow up". I still want him to be my little baby that I can cuddle and rock to sleep. But right now he just wants to play. He never wants to be held. Soon I will have a little baby to cuddle and snuggle with but it's not the same as my little baby Lucas. It's funny, because when they're babies you just want them to grow up and get past the baby stage, especially with the first one. But now I just want lucas to be a baby again. I miss it so much. But I guess he'll always be my "baby" no matter how old he is.

Mike is doing really well. Besides from being tired all the time. He's been working alot! We just found out about a week ago that he got a promotion at work. So we're really excited about that!

Today we had our ultrasound and found out that we are having another boy! Lucas will have a little brother! We're so excited!! It will be great to see them grow up together especially being so close in age. And I'll get to re-use some of my boy stuff!!!

I broke my toe

So I had to go the emergency room because Mike thought I broke my toe. I was doing laundry and Lucas was in the laundry room with me and being that I'm pregnant and clumsy I stubbed my toe on the step. It hurt really bad. So Mike looked at it and it was swollen and kind of crooked so he thought I should go to the emergency room. Mike had to go to work so a friend came over to stay with Lucas while my sister Nicole took me to the emergency room. Luckily they got me in right away. Since I'm pregnant they didn't want to do an x-ray. After all it is just a toe. So I don't officially know if it's broken but they diagnosed it as a toe contusion. So they taped up my toe and I get to wear a funny looking shoe they gave me at the hospital to wear for a few days. Right now my toe is still numb from the swelling so I'm not feeling any pain, but if I do start to feel pain they told me to just take tylenol. Not much you can do for a toe injury, especially when you're pregnant!

Baby #2 update

Pregnancy is going well so far. This coming Friday I will be 24 weeks. I feel good except for the aches in my feet and back. Carrying around a 24 pound child doesn't make any of the already pregnancy soreness any better that's for sure. But mostly feeling good. I've been having problems with the ciatic nerve that is what really bothers me. I had it a little with lucas but I have it all the time with this baby. I hate it!
My ultrasound appointment is Wednesday July 16th at 2:15 pm. We haven't made up our minds for sure yet if we're going to find out the sex of the baby. I think we're more likely to find out than to not find out though. We keep going back and forth about it.
My next OB appointment is July 23rd.
Otherwise I don't think that there is much new going on. I'll keep you posted about the ultrasound.

Lucas' new tricks

Lucas is 13 months old now. He's been walking since 12 months, and probably about the day after he started walking he just ran everywhere. So now he doesn't walk he RUNS. His newest word is hi. He was waving hi and bye but now he will actually say hi when he waves. We're still working on saying bye. He knows how to get himself up and down from the bed and the couch. Just the other day I went into the living room to check on him and he was sitting on the couch. I had no idea how he got up there but he did. He's completely off the bottle now. He only drinks from his sip cup and he hasn't been eating any baby food since he turned 12 months. Same with formula. As soon as he turned a year old we switched him to whole milk. He's doing really well. I'm really enjoying watching him learn new things.

Week 20 of pregnancy

Well I've finally got some time to sit down and get you all updated. Lucas is spending the night with my mom tonight. I dropped him off this morning. So I'm FREE today. Although it's hard to let him go as much as it is nice to get a break. I miss him alot while he's gone.

The pregnancy is going really well. I'm not having any problems. Mostly it's a really easy pregnancy. Today I am exactly 20 weeks. HALF-WAY! Actually since I'll have a scheduled c section before my due date I have less than 20 more weeks to go. I'm really excited to have this baby but at the same time I'm really enjoying being pregnant, and I guess I should really enjoy that because I know alot of women don't really get to enjoy there pregnancies so I am very thankful. So far I've gained only about 5 pounds but I'm starting to "look pregnant". I started popping out early on but I didn't necessarily "look pregnant" But now I do.

Mike and I recently decided that we are going to find out the sex of that baby. Mostly because it's more convenient to know. Especially since this baby will be born at a different time of year than lucas was so we'll need alot of new things even if we have another boy because we will need warmer newborn and 3 month clothes. All of our newborn stuff from lucas is summer clothing like shorts and jumpers because he was born at the end of May. If we have a girl then we'll need even more things because if we have another boy we will have some things that we can reuse again but won't be able to reuse if we have a girl. And let me tell you that I don't want to just have to buy all green and yellow. If I have a girl you better believe that she will be wearing all the cute pink frilly outfits!! And also it will help us decide if we have to choose a boy name or a girl name. We have the girl name picked out so if we do have a girl we don't have to worry about picking names. If we're having a boy again then we know we have to get crackin with picking a name. We're having such a hard time picking a boy name so we figure if we find out we're having a girl then we don't have to spend anymore time picking out a boy name!
I'd like to have a girl since I have a boy already but I'm ok with having another boy too, of course. Then lucas will have a brother and they'll be really close in age. But I've always dreamed of having a little girl. And the girl stuff is WAY cuter that the boy stuff!! When I'm out I always browse through the baby section and I just can't help my stuff looking at all the girl things. They're so darn cute!!

Lucas is doing really well. He's walking now!! Just yesterday he walked from the living room through the dining room to the kitchen without holding onto anything. He's really starting to cruise around the house. Once he starting taking a few steps and realized he could walk it was all over. So now he's walking. He's got his 4th top tooth coming through. This makes his 6th tooth total. 4 top and 2 bottom. He's still only saying mama. That's about it. We can't get him to say dada. Whenever we say lucas say dada he just says mama. Poor Mike.

Mike's knee is doing better. He's been going through physical therapy and should be going back to work within 2 weeks.

we need baby name help!

let me know what you think. Tell me what's your most favorite to least favorite.

6 names we like and can't decide which one to go with for boys names are:

Mike's order of likeness from most favorite to least favorite:

1.Nathan James Wicklatz
2.Ryan James Wicklatz
3.Seth James Wicklatz
4.Evan James Wicklatz
5.Jackson James Wicklatz
6.Benjamin James Wicklatz

Tiffany's order of likeness from most favorite to least favorite:

1.Benjamin
2.Jackson
3.Seth
4.Evan
5.Nathan
6.Ryan

Basically we like all 6 of these names just that I like some names better than mike and vise versa.

Let me know what you think!

We already have a girl name picked out but we can't decide on a boy name.

Finally getting updated- Sorry so late

Well I know it's been quite some time since my last entry. This past month has been complete chaos. Between Mike having surgery on his knee, chasing after an almost 1 year old, being pregnant, planning a birthday party and moving ontop of it all things have been a bit crazy around here. My mother-in-law has been staying with us. Luckily she's been able to help us alot around the house and with the move. Especially with me being pregnant and mike not able to walk. It's been nice having her here but a month is a bit too long. We don't have the same view points and we are complete opposites so we tend to butt heads. Actually she just really drives me nuts. For the sake of my sanity she's been staying with Mike's brother and sister the past few days. The pregnancy is going well. I've been feeling fine. I know the second trimester energy boost should start kicking in soon if not already. But with everything that's been going on I'm not getting much sleep and I've been on my feet alot. So I'm extremely exhausted. But hopefully as things start to settle down around our new home I will start to gain some energy. I'm looking forward to it. I am about 4 months along so far. This coming Friday may 23 will be my 17th week. I've really haven't had any complications or sickness or anything. I didn have a sinus incection about a month ago which I'm still trying to get rid of. And not to get too personal but I did also have a yeast infection about 2 weeks ago which pretty much sucked! I'd never had one before and of course the first one I get has to be when I'm pregnant. But I was able to get an oral medication to get rid of it. I'm starting to show more now too. I haven't gained any weight so far. Not a single pound. For awhile it was freaking me out but everyone keeps telling me I'm not going to gain much weight for awhile being that it's my second pregnancy and that it's better if I don't. My doctor said that If I hadn't gained any weight by next appointment which is May 29th then we'll talk about what I might need to do to start making sure that I gain some weight. It's just funny to me how I can look pregnant to people but not have gained any weight.
Lucas is doing well. Growing like a weed. He just recently got another top tooth. But along with it he also got a double ear infection. I feel so bad for him. His first birthday is this saturday. Mike and I have really gone overboard with buying things for the party. But we figure he only has a first birthday once. We're really excited but at the same time I can't believe my little baby is going to be one years old. His latest milestones are walking but only if he holds your finger. His first word was "mama" and just a couple days ago he learned the work "NO". Except when he says it sounds like nnaa nnaa. So now he says mama nnaa nnaa. Like he's trying to tell me NO. We're working on dada but it's comes out more like daayee instead of daddy. He also but rarely says the cats name heidi. but of course it doesn't sound like that when he says it. It's more like heiyee. It's really cute. And he's also learned how to wave hi and bye. It's just so fun to see him start to interact. I'm loving every minute of it!

Entry # 9

Monday April 28, 2008

This past Friday was my 13th week of pregnancy which I believe is the start of my second trimester. The pregnancy is going well. A week ago I had my first ultrasound. Everything is fine with the baby. It's growth is right on track for how along I am. And I am not having twins. Just one baby in there. I'm feeling pretty good as far as the pregnancy goes. But now I have another sinus infection. It started on Friday and came out of no where. Usually when I get one there are signs that I'm getting one a couple days before I actually do but this time it just hit my right away. I hate these things. And I hate them even more when I have them when I'm pregnant. I had one while I was pregnant with Lucas. And I know I need an antibiotic but the strongest thing they can probably give me being pregnant is augmenten. I think that's what I took when I had Lucas. Usually my I have to take levaquin. Today I'm going to see my doctor. I'm hoping she can give me something to take that will help me feel better but that will also be safe for me to take.

This Thursday is our official moving date. Mike's mom came down from Wisconsin to stay with us and help us with the move. I don't know what I'd do if she wasn't here. Especially now that I'm sick. And alot of other family and friends have been helping us pack and move.

Last Wednesday Mike had surgery on his knee. He tore the meniscus in his knee. So now he has to wear this brace on his leg and is on crutches for about a month. He's been out of work also for the past two weeks. He's getting a workman's comp. from work but they only pay 60 percent. So it's been a rough time with Mike not being able to get around and help and with me being pregnant and now sick too. What bad timing. But I'm glad we're moving. It's a 2 bedroom apartment. Well really it's a duplex so there's one family that lives above us. But Mike knows the lady that lives there with her husband and 2 kids. They went to high school together and she's also an nurse and the doctor office that he goes to. So that's good that we're going to know who lives above us.

Lucas is doing good. He will be a year old in less than a month. May 24th! We're going to have a birthday party for him at our new house. It had a big back yard and a deck, so there will be plenty of room to have all of our family and friends over for the big occasion. We're just going to do a cook out. Lucas is starting to walk around but only if he's holding onto things. Occasionally he'll let go and stand there for a few seconds but then he falls down. It's like when he's standing there he doesn't know what to do next. But I'm sure any day now he'll take his first steps. The past couple days he's been saying mama. I'm not sure if he says it because he know what the word means or if he says it because he hears us say it to him. But it seems like he might actually know what it means. He doesn't say it much but usually when he does it's because he's trying to get my attention. So that's pretty cool.

Entry # 8

April 20, 2008

This past Friday was my 12th week. Next Friday will be the start of my second trimester. I can't believe how fast it's going. It seems like I just found out a couple weeks ago still. I don't really have much time to really even think about the fact that I'm pregnant. I'm so busy sometimes I actually forget that I am. It's crazy. I'm doing well. All nausea has gone away. I'm starting to not feel as tired all the time as I was before. But I'm still hungry as ever. And I am constantly having cravings. Yesterday it was Mexican food and so Mike and I went to a Mexican Restaurant for lunch. Actually it was the night before that, that I was craving the Mexican food but it was 11:30 at night and nothing was open, except taco bell. So we stopped and I got some nachos but by the time we got home I was so tired I couldn't eat it. So the next day I got to have some really good Mexican food! Today I really want a big bowl of fruit. I want melon, grapes, blueberries, strawberries, apples, pineapple....all of it!! It sounds so yummy!! My cravings have been so different from when I was pregnant with Lucas. I didn't have that many cravings with him. But with this baby I'm craving something everyday. And it's always the most random stuff. I think I'm driving Mike nuts with it.

BIG NEWS!! We're going to be moving. We found a place we like. It's a 2 bedroom 1 bathroom. It has a pretty good size living room and dining room area and has a really big back yard with a nice cedar deck. It also has a playground in the back yard too! I'm really excited about it. It's not a done deal yet, but I talked to the lady who has it up for rent and told her we want it and that we'd put a deposit down for it and that we could move in May 1st. She said she'd get back to my on Monday so we can go over the details. She needed to talk some things over with her husband. I really can't wait. I hope it all works out. But it's going to be a very difficult time for us these next 2 weeks. With me being pregnant and taking care of Lucas and Mike hopping around on his bum knee it's going to be hard to pack and move. We're going to need as much help from family and Friends as we can get.

Today we're going to the zoo!! It's getting really nice out. It's been in the 60's and 70's. It's wonderful. Spring is finally here!!!!

Entry #7

Sorry to all my weekly readers. It's been a busy weekend. Well this past Friday was my 11th week. The pregnancy is going really well so far. My morning sickness has mostly gone away and luckily I haven't thrown up at all. As long as I keep food in me every few hours the nausea stays away. I'm still really tired and I'm sure that's not going to get any better anytime soon. Or maybe for the rest of my life for that matter. But that's the price you pay when having children. And it's all worth it. The past month or so I've been getting really weird cravings. Like for lemonade and pickles. One day I wanted and Oreo shake and an egg roll. I don't know. I didn't have this with Lucas. Well actually with Lucas I just wanted to eat sweets all the time. This pregnancy I'm not eating much sweets nor much junk food. I've mostly been craving healthy foods or just plain old weird stuff. So I guess if I'm going to crave something thank god it's healthy food. I can't complain about that. I'm really looking forward to my ultrasound on April 21st. I don't think that day could come soon enough. I just want to make sure that the baby is healthy and growing well. It's drives me nuts not being able to know what's going on in there. But once I see that ultrasound and the nurse tells me that the baby looks good my mind will be at peace.

Mike hurt himself at work on Saturday. He usually doesn't work Saturdays but went in to get some over time. Sometimes during breaks all the guys play a game of horse. Well I guess Mike went to do a lay-up and landed on his leg the wrong way and did something to his knee. He can't walk or put any kind of pressure on his leg. So he's hopping all around the house. Since he can't get around so well he's going to be missing out on some work with no pay for awhile until he can get to his chiropractor to figure out what's wrong and hopefully be able to get him better soon. It's been a rough 2 days so far. I've mostly had to keep up with everything around here myself and not only take care of Lucas but now also take care of Mike. And of course being pregnant really makes it difficult. So we need prayers to get Mike better. I need him healthy!!

Something I'm really looking forward to starting in June is that I'm changing my work schedule so that I only have to work 4 hours a day from 4 to 8 pm Monday through Friday. I'm so excited!! Mike will be able to get more sleep during the day, I'll be able to get in a good nap before I have to go to work, and I'll be able to be with lucas more and have more time to do things around the house.

Entry #6

Yesterday was my 10th week of pregnancy. This past Thursday April 3 was my first OB appointment. It went really well. We went through all of the typical questions and tests for the first visit. They ask you all of your medical history and give you blood tests and a pap smear. The doctor also checked for the size of my uterus. She said she felt that it was a little bigger than what it should be for how far along I am so she wrote up an order for me to go to the hospital to have an ultrasound done. I don't know how it would be possible for me to be any further along than I am. I know the exact date that I conceived this baby. Mike and my mom think I'm having twins. There are certain signs that could make someone think that but what are the odds. So I don't think that I am but I guess anything is possible. My appointment for the ultrasound isn't until April 21st. So I have to wait a couple weeks to find out.

My new due date is actually October 31st. My physician calculated it as November 1st but she was off by a day. My OB nurse did with the calculator and it came out for October. She said the pregnancy wheels that doctors use are exactly accurate. So now we have a new due date. Although I'll most likely be having a c section again and in that case they schedule it a week before your due date. So we will have the baby just in time for Halloween.

Still feeling pretty much the same. Except the weirdest thing happend. Just a little after my 8th week I started feeling nauseous. It's been happening off and on all throughout the day. I hate it. The first 8 weeks were fine and then it started. I thought I was just going to sail through the first trimester without any morning sickness. I guess I should've knocked on wood. Well hopefully it will go away within the next few weeks. Only a few more weeks to go until my 2nd trimester!!!

So we thought we were going to go with the name Ryan James if it's a boy but I'm having second thought again. I just can't decide on a name. If I had my way I'd name him Nolan James but Mike isn't too sure about that name. Maybe if I keep asking him about it he'll eventually start liking it. So still not too sure on the boy name. At least we've got about 6 more months to make a decision.

Last night we just got back from Wisconsin. The previous weekend I was in Kentucky. We had a great time visiting with family down there. I was home for 3 days before we left for Wisconsin. We went up there to stay with my mother-in-law for 4 days. We had a good time but I'm glad to be back home. About a week ago I started getting morning sickness except that it wasn't only just in the morning. It was and still is happening all day off and on. It seemed to get worse as the week went by last week so I wasn't feeling so good on our Wisconsin vacation. But it was nice for Mike's mom to see Lucas.

Lucas is feeling much better. I had to take him to the doctor before we left for Wisconsin because he had been running a fever. Turns out he had a little bit of an ear infection in his right ear. Probably because of his teething. When we were in Kentucky he got in his first top tooth and within a few days another top tooth cut through. Once we got him on the amoxicillin he started feeling much better. His ear is still bothering him a bit but we've got a few more days of antibiotics to finish off and then he should be fully recovered.

Other than my nausea I'm doing OK. Still really tired, hungry, and having to pee ALOT! But it's all expected when you're pregnant. I just wish the nausea stayed away. I was fine the first 2 months and just before my 9th week it kicked in. I hope it doesn't stay around for long because it's making life really difficult right now. I basically feel OK when I'm relaxing and laying down but as soon as I get started into chores or running around with Lucas I feel miserable.

This Thursday is my first OB appointment. I'm really excited. I'm hoping I'll be able to have my first ultrasound. I really want to see how the baby is growing and to make sure everything is on the right track. I think alot about what's going on inside there and how the baby is doing, hoping that he/she is growing properly and is healthy. I'll keep you updated with that.

So I did this fun test online. It's one of those gender predictor quizzes. This one was a Chinese Gender predictor chart according to your age and month of conception. So according to ancient Chinese traditions I'm having a girl. I guess we'll just have to wait another 6 and a half months to find out.

Lucas is doing really well. His latest thing is making funny faces and he does this snorting thing like he's a pig. I have no idea where he picked that up from. Nothing new with him besides his two new teeth. I can't believe that in less than 2 months he's going to be a year old. Soon I will be working on plans for his first birthday party.

It just thundered outside at this very second and Lucas looked outside with curiosity. It's his first time hearing thunder. And it's raining cats and dogs. It's about time for Spring to get here!

Soon I'll get some pictures posted of our Kentucky and Wisconsin vacations.

Journal Entry # 4 of my second pregnancy

March 20, 2008

Tomorrow I will be 8 weeks pregnant. I had to write my entry today because tomorrow I will be leaving to go to Kentucky. Lucas and I are going down with my Aunt Laurie, Uncle Mark, Kristen, Elizabeth, and Alex. We're just staying Friday through Sunday, but I'm really looking forward to the visit.

Nothing really new going on besides our exciting weekend getaway. The past few days I've just been out running alot of errands to prepare for out trip. Today I'm working on getting laundry done and packing.

I think Mike and I finally picked a boy name we like. I think we're going to go with Ryan James. We already had a girl name picked out. If we have a girl her name is going to be Olivia Louise.

So basically these days my symptoms of pregnancy consist of being extremely!! exhausted, and hungry all the time. Also having to wake up 2 or 3 times a night to go pee is not fun. Especially since I'm not sleeping well and Lucas has been waking up 4 times a night. So I'm not getting much sleep. I try to take a nap during the day before I have to go to work but it doesn't seem to help much. I wish I didn't have to work. I just want to be able to stay home and take care of things around here better, and to be able to rest a little more so I don't get so worn out. But I'm just pushing through it.

Happy Easter!!

Journal Entry # 3

March 15, 2008

Yesterday was the start of my 7th week of pregnancy. I'm already starting to fill out my clothes. I'm at that weird in-between stage where my regular clothes are too small but maternity clothes are too big. So I'm just making do with what I have.

Basically not much new with me. Just busy as usual. My mom has been keeping Lucas overnight every Friday which is really helpful. I can get some things done without also having to chase after him. And she of course loves being able to have him over and to see him every week. I know she really looks forward to it. This weekend I really lucked out because she kept him Friday night and she's also keeping him Saturday night. I miss him though. I just have so many things to do.

Lately my pregnancy symptoms consist of being TIRED and HUNGRY! That's it. Thank goodness I'm not sick this time. So far so good. (knock on wood) The first three months I was pregnant with Lucas I wanted nothing to do with food. This time around I'm not having that problem whatsoever!!

My first OB appointment is on April 3. I'm going to see the same doctor that I did when I was pregnant with Lucas. I loved my doctor. And with having a c section I really feel comfortable with him doing the surgery and I loved the hospital that I was in.

That's pretty much it around here.

Although we're still having problems picking boy names, so if you have any ideas please help! Otherwise I hope we have a girl. The name we're going to use if we have a girl is Olivia Louise. It was the name we were going to use if Lucas was a girl. I just really love that name. So if we do have a girl this time that's what it'll be.

Entry # 2

let's take a vote:

These are some of the boy names we're considering. We've got a girl name picked out but we need some help with the boy name. Let me know what you think. Or if you think of another name that's not on the list i'm up for suggestions.

Nathan James
Caleb James
Dylan James-dylan is mike's nephew's middle name so he doesn't want to use it but I really like it.

I know it's not much of a list to choose from but it's all we got.

Baby #2 Journal entry

Entry # 1: March 8th, 2008.

Mike and I found out that we are pregnant on Thursday February 28th. I took a home pregnancy test that morning and immediately after peeing on it two pink lines apeared. WE'RE PREGNANT! I couldn't actually believe it. I was in a bit of a shock. I went upstairs to show mike. I said I didn't really think it was going to be postitive. Mike was so excited. He was holding lucas on his lap at the time. We told lucas that he was going to be a big brother. (not that he understands). But it was really cute. It took me a while to come around. I didn't really think I was pregnant. But I am!! Now that the initial shock has warn off, of course I am too very happy and excited! It's just hard to believe still sometimes that I'm going to have another child. I'm going to be a mother of two. I love lucas more than anything. It's strange to me to think that I could love another child as much as I do him. But I know I will love them equally. I just think that lucas will always have a bit of a special place in my heart as my first child. So we're welcoming baby #2 with open arms and much love!!

So far the pregnancy is going well. As of March 7 I am 6 weeks along. My symptoms are tiredness, sore breasts!!, and occasional blahness in the tummy. The not sleeping well at night and feeling hungry more often has kicked in the past few days along with feeling like I have to pee every few hours. Oh what fun!! And it's only just begining. At least I know what I'm in for this time around. One benefit, which i'm not so sure is a benefit, of being pregnant with a one year old running around is that I'll get plenty of EXCERSIZE. Probably more than I'll actually want. Lucas is definitely a handful. But we're both very excited and up for the challenges ahead!!
