Doctor's Visits
In the past 3 weeks and 4 days I've been to 6 doctor appointments. 4 for Ryan, one for Lucas and one for me. It's crazy. Ryan had to go several times for weigh in's because he lost so much weight after birth. He weighed 7 pounds and 13 ounces and lost about one pound after birth. But at his last visit yesterday(monday) he weighed 7 pounds and 15 ounces. So his weight is much better now that he's got the hang of breastfeeding. But now he has an infection around the area were they did the circumcision. So I had to take him in yesterday for that and the doctor gave me a special cream to put on it. He goes back to the doctor again next Tuesday for his one month check up. And the doctor said she will check the infection at that visit to make sure he's all healed up. Last Tuesday I had to take Lucas to the doctor because I suspected he had an ear infection. Which he does. Actually he has a double ear infection. He's been teething again and I could tell something wasn't right because he wasn't eating or sleeping like he usually does and I noticed he'd been tugging on his ears. So he's taking amoxicillan. And last Monday I had to go to the doctor to have my incision checked from the c section. Everything is healing just fine. I go back on December 15th for my postpardum check up and I have to have an ultrasound done on my left ovary because when they did the c section they noticed that my left ovary was 4 times larger than my right one. The doctor thinks it's just due to all the hormones from the pregnancy but wants me to have an ultrasound done just incase.
So 6 visits down and many more to come!

2 weeks and 2 days old
Ryan turned two weeks old this past Friday. I can't believe how fast these weeks have gone by. It's been pretty easy adjusting to having a second baby. I forgot how little sleep you really do get though with a newborn in the house. I'm up every 2 hours to feed him! Luckily Lucas mostly sleeps about 12 hours straight every night. Ryan is doing very well with breastfeeding. It took us a while to get the hang of it and we had to supplement with formula for awhile but it seems like he's starting to gain some weight back now. We go back to the pediatrician this Thursday coming up. Otherwise he's a really good baby. He sleeps most of the time and only fusses when he's hungry or needs a diaper change. He's pretty much easy to figure out.
Mike's mom was here the first week we were home from the hospital to help us out and my mom was here just this past week and will be here until Nov. 16. I'm so glad I've had alot of help. I don't know what I'm going to do when I'm all on my own.
I'm feeling mostly recovered from my c section. Sometimes I get a little sore if I get to doing to much, but I've been out and about and am getting around pretty easily. We've already been to Target, the grocery store, kohl's, the doctor's office for a couple visits, and to church today for Ryan's first time. Oh and yesterday we went to the mall so Lucas could see all the Christmas stuff. He just loves to look at all the decorations. I can't wait to decorate our house for Christmas!!
I'll keep you update on Ryan. He goes to see his pediatrician this Thursday. I'm hoping he's back to his birth weight. At his last appointment he weighed 6 pounds and 15.5 ounces. He was 7 pounds and 13 ounces at birth. But he's been nursing every 3 hours for about 30 mins each feeding so I'm sure he's gained some more weight by now.
Lucas is doing really well adjusting to having a new baby in the house too. He doesn't really realize that baby Ryan is a real person. He just thinks he's a toy. Lucas just goes about his day as usual. It hasn't seemed to interfere with him.
